Katherine Heigl reveals her childhood in a bubble of white and how this experience impacted the way she cared for her adoptive, multiracial children. In an interview, the "Firefly Lane" and "Grey's Anatomy" actress shared her looks didn't bother her. However, when having a conversation with her adoptive sister from South Korea about how society had treated them, she was aware of how much different their lives were. "I inquired of Meg what she thought about being treated differently when she went out with our parents and those who went out by herself. Meg replied, "Oh yeah, always!" That made me realize that I was naive," Heigl said to her parents. She confessed that she was angry, but she felt it was necessary to use her anger to help her daughters. Heigl is engaged to Josh Kelley for 13 years they have a son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr. They adopted Nancy Leigh from South Korea aged 12 in 2009, then Adalaide whom was eight years old old and is Black in 2012.
