Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four children born on August 9, 1976, at Beaumont Puy of Domme. Her parents who was both dentists and a teacher, recognized and supported their daughter's passion for acting and drama on a young stage. The support they provided is more than enough for Audrey to thwart her initial goal of becoming a an animal scientist. Her rise to fame as a young actress was rapid and accompanied by her early successes. Following her graduation, she participated in the French show for spotting talent Jeunes Premiers which was sponsored by Canal+. She won the Most Outstanding Young Actress prize at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors and started her acting career. Tautou was raised in a Catholic home, and was a member of the religious services, despite having attended school at the Institut Catholique de Paris. She pursued a modelling career alongside her acting career and is the model for L'Oreal Mont Blanc and Chanel frequently referred to as the Chanel Muse. A keen photographer, she produced a recent exhibition in the Arles International Festival that was titled Superficial. The majority of her photographs concern famous people and celebrities. They also feature self-portraits as well. Audrey Tautou's worldwide popularity and success exploded following her appearance as Amelie Poulain's leading lady in Le Fabuleux Destin of Amelie Poulain. Amelie was a box-office international film that received acclaim during awards ceremonies across the globe. Amelie is the most successful French film of the French language in the US. Following this massive success, Tautou starred in a variety of films, including British dramas such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Long Sunday of fiancailles. She also starred alongside Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
